I did this yes i know and then I get a page asking whats the problem and then asked for my phone number. Straight away i get called from a very far away sounding man who wants access to my laptop. I allowed it and he was showing me all these things why it wasnt working - none of which to me made sense - saying the 'drivers' were stopping it. I started to panic and told him to leave.
He did. But then later when i tried again - he called me immediately saying 'are you still trying to activate it'? I told him i was and that i didn't believe him.
I called the number given for technical service by this seller and again the bloke sounded very far away and i thought this was dodgy.
I asked him to prove he was from McAfee and he went away then came back and asked to get into my laptop again.
When i said i don't believe you are who you say he hung up. So not sure what's going on. But only use McAfee. There was a bit of a glitch when the installation stopped and a message said they couldn't remove the existing McAfee software and they directed me to their troubleshooting sites which looked a bit complicated so I took my usual option when in trouble and restarted the PC.
